Let’s be real. April? She was a lot.
Not the "booked & busy" kind of lot... more like the "body said no, and the wallet said YOLO" type of month 😅
Like, actual fever-for-two-days-straight, can’t-move, wrapped-in-a-blanket kind of sick. Which is weird for me. But honestly? Probably the universe's way of forcing me to slow the heck down. So I did. I rested. I slept. I skipped a few to-do’s. And surprisingly? The world didn’t burn down.
Post-fever clarity hit hard and what did I do? Booked a flight to HONG KONG with my childhood besties. Is the trip in June? Yes. Did we need a holiday to look forward to? Absolutely. Sometimes, self-care isn’t a bath bomb and a journal. Sometimes, it’s plane tickets and cha chaan tengs.
While my body was screaming rest, my workspace said upgrade me, pls. So here’s what happened:
🧠 Apple Watch: Because my health goals needed some backup (and yes, I am closing my rings now, thank you very much).
🖱️ Logitech Lift Mouse: My right hand was not vibing with my old mouse. Wrist strain? Not on my 2025 bingo card.
🖥️ New Monitor: My old one was a hand-me-down TV from almost 10 years ago (yes, you read that right). My eyes deserved better. Retirement granted.
April wasn’t about massive wins or hitting big goals. It was about healing, listening to my body, and making micro moves that’ll support me long-term in life and work.
If you're also in a season where you feel like you’re moving slower than usual, I hope this reminds you:
Rest is still progress. Relapse doesn’t mean failure. And upgrades (whether personal or tech stuff) can be a form of self-love too.
That’s the April tea ☕
See you in May (your girl's birth month! 🥳) with more energy and, let’s be real, probably another impulsive story or two. 😉
xo,
Nicholle
